Power BI Certification is getting its name changed to PL 300 Exam from February 28,2022. Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate certification will be renamed to Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate.

According to Microsoft website, apart from the naming of the exam and certification, there will close to zero changes in what the exams will be testing.
If you are someone who wants to get certified and is not sure how to do it, fear not I will provide you all the clarity you need and some more.
First things first: Register for the exam.
If you are planning to take the exam before 31st March, 2022 then the you should go to this page here. This is the exam schedule page for DA-100 Analyzing Data with Microsoft Power BI.
Mind you the above mention will retire after March 31st. Microsoft will start a new exam named PL- 300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst .
As we can see they have gone to specify what the certification is going to make you , rather what you could do with the certification before. PL-300 will start from end of February, ie 28th February 2022.
Once you are on the pages of the respective exams, you can click on "Schedule Exam" after selecting your region. The region that you are in decides the fees of the exam.
I am going with the scheduling the exam first and then studying for the exam.
Getting 100% prepped for the exam and then scheduling the exam will never happen for me. Also the fact that Microsoft lets you to reschedule the exam, as long as you don't try it one day before the scheduled exam date.
Microsoft also lets you to retake the exam five times if you don't clear it in one attempt.
The learning path provided by Microsoft is good enough to get certified. You have to be thorough with the materials.

The validity of the certification used to be Lifelong before, then it was reduced to Two years and now it is one year.
